colorado

For Thanksgiving this year, we traveled to beautiful Colorado for a family reunion (Danny's side of the family). It wasn't just a "family" reunion but really a gathering of friends. I love how Danny's siblings are not just my in-laws, but my lovely friends that I miss so much! Colorado was picked as the central location (us being in Oregon, with Danny's family in Montana and Ohio) and we stayed at Snow Mountain Ranch. We were blessed with great weather--sunny, not too cold, and hardly any snow (which made for great travel, not so great for the snowboarders of the family, however!). Our time was filled to the brim with running and laughing children (there were 19 kids there!), fun activities, games, cooking, lots of cleaning up, and of course lots of catching up with some wonderful people. It all went way too fast.

On our last full day there, we all enjoyed a hike together, taking pictures and enjoying God's creation. It ended up being quite the workout as we kept going on and on looking for the prize-- a waterfall which somehow never turned up. Oh, well, as with many things in life, it's not so much the destination as it is the journey to get there.
